Your opportunity:
The Analytics Engineer is responsible for transforming existing enterprise data into actionable operational and customer experience insights.
This role focuses on querying, analysing, modelling and industrialising data from multiple internal sources to support Customer Experience indicators and operational decision-making and plays a critical role in enabling proactive improvement by discovering patterns, automating analytical processes, producing reliable, repeatable data outputs and supporting platform-based intelligence systems
The role works within the Customer Experience Intelligence Platforms and contributes to the evolution of indicators such as MEXI.
You'll make impact by:
- Managing the service domain including its virtual team. This team includes the design, delivery and operation of the domain, as performed by internal Vodafone departments, our managed service partners and relevant vendors. The extended team also encompasses the relevant business stakeholders.
- Ensuring service performance SLA’s and KPI’s are met.
- Managing business stakeholders expectations and championing business initiatives.
- Supporting delivery teams with non-functional, operational and change acceptance requirements.
- Assessment and final approval of production changes.
- Vendor management to ensure contractual obligations are met and maximise value to the business with managed service providers and the supporting vendors.
- Identifying and driving continual service improvement by identifying opportunities and driving through to conclusion.
- Be available for on-call on a rostered basis.
- Identifying and escalating as appropriate service outages to enable relevant stakeholders to take timely action.
What you’ll bring:
Data Analysis & Insight Generation
- Perform advanced queries across enterprise datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and behavioural patterns
- Translate raw operational and customer data into structured insights
- Support root cause exploration from a data perspective (not operational execution)
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand analytical questions and turn them into data solutions
Analytics Industrialisation
- Convert manual analyses into automated, repeatable processes.
- Develop scheduled queries, data transformations and reusable datasets.
- Ensure outputs are reliable, traceable and scalable.
- Reduce dependency on ad-hoc analysis through structured data products
Platform Contribution
- Work with enterprise data environments (AWS, on-prem platforms, and other cloud ecosystems) to access, transform and model data
- Support data processing across data lakes, warehouses and internal analytics platform
- Contribute to indicator calculations and reusable data models
- Apply best practices in data structuring, optimisation and performance
- Collaborate with platform and engineering teams to improve data availability and structure
Stakeholder Enablement
- Provide data-backed insights to Operations, Engineering and Business stakeholders
- Explain analytical findings in clear, actionable language
- Support the translation of business questions into technical data logic
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve data accessibility and usability
- Suggest enhancements to data pipelines and analytical models
- Contribute to building a data-driven culture within NEC
Ideally, you will also have:
- Strong SQL skills and experience querying large enterprise datasets
- Experience working with data warehouses, data lakes or enterprise analytics platforms
- Ability to work across heterogeneous environments (cloud, hybrid, or on-prem)
- Experience with at least one major cloud data ecosystem (AWS, Azure or GCP)
- Familiarity with orchestration and transformation tools (e.g. Airflow, Glue, dbt or equivalents)
- Experience integrating data from multiple operational systems
