Your opportunity:
As our valued Finance Manager - Group Opex, you will play a vital role in managing the financial accounting and reporting for Operating Expenditure (OPEX) including Payroll. You will ensure that OPEX is accounted for in accordance with accounting policies. Manage the financial accounting and reporting for the OPEX & Payroll section of the P&L. You’ll draw on your strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and expertise in financial management to effectively implement change management activities and drive continuous improvement in financial processes.
You'll make impact by:
- Manage the OPEX month end process to ensure all journals and reconciliations are prepared by Shared Service Centre (SSC) on a timely basis and in accordance with the monthly timetable.
- Review of month end OPEX reporting outputs produced by SSC team for WD4 meetings with Commercial Teams and Financial Controller.
- Prepare the month end OPEX management reports and lead discussion in WD3 commercial manager meetings.
- Partner with the Finance Business Partner (FBP) team to simplify the month end reporting process by obtaining a greater understanding of their cost drivers and contractual commitments, including providing technical support on all accounting issues that arise.
- Work closely with Manila Finance team to ensure charts of accounts are reviewed regularly and Trial balance sheet is loaded on time before month end.
- Run monthly governance with Manila Finance operations to ensure adherence to group policies and procedures for both Opex and Payroll, identify risks and opportunities and highlight to higher management where necessary.
- Take ownership of the payroll & intercompany balance sheet accounts ensuring compliance with statutory and legislative requirements.
- Partner with Commercial Teams to understand their cost drivers and service commitments to reduce reliance on and volume of month end manual journals.
- Review of long term service contracts to assess accounting impact of straight-lining of service contracts and other contract terms
- Review of balance sheet rec's performed by SSC team and FBP team to ensure reconciliations are adequately completed and control issues identified for future remediation.
- Review level of compliance with agreed controls both at a local level and at SSC team to ensure the integrity and accuracy of OPEX balances is maintained at all times, including compliance with TPG accounting policies.
- Work with the business to reduce the aging of creditors, Open PO's and the ARR (Service/Goods receipted but no invoice entered)
- Manage preparation of half yearly and yearly audit requirements for PWC locally including liaison with SSC team where required.
- Own and manage the cost centre hierarchy •
- Coach, support and help with the skills development of the SSC & Manila teams.
What you’ll bring:
- CA / CPA qualified with experience in a large, complex environment
- Strong communication skills and an ability to articulate financial language to nonaccountants
- Commercial acumen to understand and analyse month end results
- Ability to develop relationships with both shareholders and key management
- Active engagement with Financial Reporting, Finance Business Partnering and Tax & Treasury Teams
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think outside of the box
