What’s the opportunity?

The Clinical Services Director plays a pivotal leadership role within the 1800RESPECT program, providing strategic clinical governance, risk management, and operational oversight across a national trauma specialist counselling service. This role is responsible for ensuring clinical excellence through best-practice supervision models, robust outcomes frameworks, and evidence-informed service design. Leading a multidisciplinary clinical team, the Clinical Services Director champions continuous improvement, embeds a culture of high-quality care, and ensures Telstra Health’s services meet contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and community expectations in responding to family, domestic, and sexual violence.

  • Provide clinical leadership and governance for 1800RESPECT
  • Lead and contribute to 1800RESPECT service strategy for quality and service improvement
  • Accountable for upholding and maintaining the standards of clinical practice and clinical risk management within team and across 1800RESPECT.

About the role:

Clinical Leadership

  • Provide authoritative clinical advice and guidance to clinical and leadership teams
  • Ensure appropriate clinical standards and governance is embedded
  • Monitor clinical risk, clinical governance and clinical performance at organisational and individual practitioner levels
  • Ensure best practice policies and procedures are continuously improved and embedded into practice
  • Chair Clinical Management Committee
  • Develop strong sector partnerships to ensure evidence based clinical service models are continuously reviewed
  • Present to key stakeholders including Department of Social Services, regarding clinical
  • standards and advice

People Leadership

  • Lead the Clinical Support Specialist and Clinical Support Line teams
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and development for team members
  • Foster team engagement
  • Contribute to and create a positive culture within and across 1800RESPECT teams

Quality and Service Improvement

  • Lead and contribute to 1800RESPECT service strategy for quality and service improvement
  • Develop and implement a supervision and coaching model across 1800RESPECT
  • Develop and implement a Clinical Outcomes Framework
  • Ensure contract deliverables and clinical outcomes are met
  • Be accountable for the clinical sign-off of technology implementations, updates and changes as well as operational documents
  • Provide advice on complex service users and complaints

About you:

  • Psychologist registered with AHPRA or Social Worker register with AASW
  • Masters qualification considered favourably
  • Must have minimum 5 years’ experience in a clinical role in the Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence sector.
  • Must have minimum 5 years leadership experience.
  • Experience in implementing Clinical Governance Frameworks
  • Extensive clinical supervision experience
  • Strong operational experience preferably within telehealth service provision
