What’s the opportunity?
The Head of Customer Growth is a senior leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth and market share while ensuring a strong customer experience and commercial excellence. Lead a team of sales and account management professionals in opportunity identification, engagement, and ongoing relationship management for the full range of Telstra Health’s products, solutions, platforms and services into the Providers market including GPs, Community Care and Aged Care.
Responsible for the achievement of growth across the relevant portfolios, and for the successful embedding of best-practice in sales execution and customer engagement, the role will lead the development of the sales and accounts strategy and management of relationships across multiple geographical areas, across a range of health providers in multiple industry sectors, with accountability for growth and on or above plan performance.
About the role:
The Head of Customer Growth is responsible for leading sales and growth initiatives, building strong relationships with key stakeholders, and developing and leading a high-performing team. This role is focused on driving new business opportunities within the healthcare provider sector in Aged Care, Community Care and with General Practitioners, ensuring a positive customer experience, and contributing to Telstra Health's broader strategic goals. The key accountabilities and outcomes include:
Leadership
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key healthcare providers, customers, and partners, ensuring a positive customer experience and identifying new business opportunities to drive growth and/or volume in the provider sector.
- Demonstrate leadership across the organisation, proactively communicating industry developments and innovations in sales and healthcare technology and contribute to the broader Telstra Health strategy as a key member of the Sales, Marketing & Communication leadership team.
Sales and Growth
- Develop and implement a sales strategy and execute against business objectives and targets within the provider sector, identifying, developing, and closing sales engagements, and ensuring a healthy pipeline and performance coverage to budget
- Partner with leaders and executives to drive the creation, execution, and expansion of new and existing key accounts, including engaging with senior-level customer representatives internally and externally.
- Work proactively with the broader Sales Marketing and Communications Team to identify additional commercial opportunities to expand our product reach and commercial outcomes, continuing to build a growth-focused team
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key healthcare providers and partners, ensuring a positive customer experience, addressing needs, and identifying growth opportunities within key accounts.
- Support and define an aligned Territory and Rules of Engagement plan, adapting to fit the business priorities to ensure coverage and achievement of business plans /territory plans.
- Identify and propose new business deals by engaging potential healthcare provider partners, evaluating new markets and competitive advantages, researching industry trends, sourcing competitive intelligence, and developing data-driven business cases
- Develop and support key performance indicators and sales targets for all roles, providing feedback through Telstra Health’s sales and pipeline cadence to ensure healthy sales performance and over-target achievement.
- Lead and close new business deals by successfully negotiating contracts, coordinating requirements, and overseeing launch activities.
- Collaborate on the evolution of services, products, systems, and standard contracts to ensure alignment with future healthcare provider needs and bring the voice of the customer to our prioritisation.
People
- Lead and develop a high-performing sales and accounts team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning while providing mentorship and support to team members, driving continuous improvement in performance and creating a customer-centric, winning mindset
- Provide feedback on team members' strengths and areas for development, coaching to build capability and confidence.
- Leverage and embed the Sales Methodology and Sales Enablement toolkits available through Telstra Health, such as Miller Heimann (Korn Ferry), LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and the adoption and evolution of Salesforce CRM.
About you:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business or relevant field and/or equivalent experience
- Significant experience (5-10+ years) in building and managing strategic partnerships, with high-value sales experience across enterprises and relevant industry and government bodies in Australia.
- Executive leadership skills, including confidently liaising with C-suite executives and Board engagement, with a depth of demonstrated industry and business relationships and knowledge.
- Deep expertise in sales and account management, with an understanding of its impact on the broader business and wider customer/organisation.
- Strong track record in identifying sales opportunities for new clients, building and maintaining networks, and adopting new technologies and digital services.
- Significant experience collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders across various organisational objectives, with the ability to make decisions that impact the achievement of Telstra Health's objectives and financial performance.
- Proven capability in leading a successful sales and accounts team, developing constructive and supportive relationships with peers and team members.
- Exceptional customer focus, with the ability to build strong relationships and manage all stakeholders.
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions while prioritising customer experience.
- Excellent negotiation skills, with experience delivering and maintaining client-focused solutions that meet customer needs.
- Experience developing new business models and routes to market through strategic partnerships.
- Demonstrated achievement of revenue and sales targets.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Exceptional written skills, with the ability to generate professional reports and proposals.
