What’s the opportunity?
In this role, you will design, implement, and manage enterprise talent and succession activities, collaborating closely with key stakeholders across the global People function and the wider business to ensure effective delivery and support of these initiatives. As part of the broader People team, you will also contribute to talent transformation activities, including the rollout of updated talent management frameworks and practices, as well as the design and implementation of career development frameworks and digital technology solutions.

About the role:
Translate People & Culture strategies and business plans into programs of work across the portfolios of:
- Talent Sourcing
- Talent development (including capability, leadership, and culture)
- Succession planning
- Diversity and inclusion
Lead Talent Partner and external vendors to deliver on the Talent and Capability strategic plan.
Talent Strategic Plan Development
- Design and implement a talent strategic plan that aligns with Telstra Health’s goals, ensuring a pipeline of high-potential candidates for key roles.
- Work closely with senior leadership to forecast talent needs and initiative-taking talent acquisition and retention strategies.
- Provide thought leadership and expertise for enterprise-wide talent management activities to ensure alignment with contemporary thinking and best practice.
- Lead talent partner and external vendors globally, to deliver a high quality and effective partnership.
- Collaborate with our global teams to ensure compliant, culturally appropriate, and leading practice recruitment practices.
Learning and Development Programs
- Lead the sourcing, design and delivery of employee learning and development programs, ensuring they are tailored to build capability, enhance skills and career progression.
- Manage leadership development initiatives to build strong leadership pipeline within the organisation.
Annual Talent and Performance Processes
- Oversee the annual talent management and talent development cycles whilst offering support, guidance and training to the Senior People and Culture Partners and Leaders (e.g. nine box mapping)
- Oversee performance management processes, providing guidance to people managers on how to set clear goals, provide constructive feedback and track employee performance.
- Ensure a strong link between performance outcomes, capability development and success planning.
- Implement and analyse the annual performance review process with the lens of continuous improvement.
- Work with leadership teams to identify high-potential talent and create succession plans for critical roles within the organisation.
Employee Engagement and Retention
- Analyse relevant people data (e.g. HRIS, engagement data, people metrics) to identify skill gaps and future capability building requirements, to drive initiatives that enhance employee retention through career growth and learning opportunities.
- Collaborate with P&C team and people managers to create a positive employee experience that aligns with organisational culture and values.
Data Driven Decision Making
- Collect, analyse, and report on key metrics related to talent management and capability development (e.g., training effectiveness, retention rates and career progression data)
- Use data insights to continuously improve talent and capability programs and processes.
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Function as a trusted advisor to business leaders on talent development capability building and organisational design.
- Collaborate with P&C and other business functions to ensure alignment and integration of talent strategies across the business.
Change Management
- Lead and support change management efforts related to talent and capability development, ensuring smooth transitions during organisational changes.
- Facilitate communication and training to help employees adapt to new capabilities and ways of working.
People Processes
- Collaborating with relevant stakeholders, curate an effective onboarding process designed to create a positive first impression and employee experience.
- Overseeing recruitment and onboarding processes aimed at attracting and retaining top talent.
- Design and deliver people initiatives and projects to drive organisational performance across the employee lifecycle.
Technology
- Responsible for HRIS implementation as it relates to all talent processes.
Operational
- Develop, manage, and review all hiring related policies, e.g. employee referral program.
- Develop and maintain hiring collateral, e.g. job advertising, interview guides and reference checking.
- Manage and maintain compliance for all employment contracts – ensuring legislative adherence.
About you:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or significant on the job experience
- Proven record in partnering with C-Suite leaders to provide robust insight and recommendations in relation to talent management.
- A thought leader with experience across the full talent ecosystem
- Managing offshore vendors/partners
- Experience in end-to-end talent and performance processes
- Experience in collaborating with senior leaders to build workforce plans.
- Experience in developing and leading onboarding processes Experience in attracting diverse talent through using analytics and talent insights and crafting talent programs, career paths and compelling employer branding.
- Experience in executive and senior level search
- Knowledge of best practice talent management principles and strategies for building a collaboration and learning culture
- Experience with Oracle (HRIS), JIRA, HireVue, CV Check and Xref)
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Project management capability to lead relevant recruitment technology implementations, integrations, and HR projects.
- Technology or Health recruitment experience is highly desirable.
