About This Role:
This role is part of the Risk Team in Infrastructure Delivery and its purpose is to deliver risk management and risk support services to Systems Planning & Land Acquisition (SPLA), Engineering & Technical Services (ETS) and Infrastructure Delivery (ID) projects including providing risk management strategies support across the project lifecycle.
Extensive experience in risk management for major construction and infrastructure projects is essential. Candidates with experience limited to IT, finance, or banking will NOT meet the role criteria.
Your Responsibilities:
- Embed best-practice risk management across infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with organisational frameworks, standards, and systems
- Partner with project teams and stakeholders to identify, assess, and actively manage risks, providing guidance and ensuring a consistent, transparent approach
- Support and facilitate qualitative and quantitative risk assessments, maintaining accurate risk registers and ensuring documentation is current and accessible
- Monitor, report, and escalate risks through regular reviews, dashboards, and monthly reporting, including testing controls and tracking mitigation actions
- Drive continuous improvement and a strong risk-aware culture by supporting initiatives, audits, training, and cross-team collaboration
To Thrive in This Role, You’ll Bring:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in risk, business improvement, management systems, or equivalent practical experience
- Proven experience in risk management or assurance (typically 5+ years), ideally within large, complex or infrastructure-focused organisations
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and manage ambiguity in dynamic environments
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and collaborate effectively at all levels
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while driving practical outcomes
