About the role

 As a Senior Project Manager - IoT, you'll play a pivotal role leading the delivery of projects relating to our IoT devices, ranging from developing and implementing new capabilities to ongoing maintenance and renewals. Our fleet of IoT devices help Sydney Water to manage our environmental obligations, respond to changing conditions in our wastewater system and improve customer outcomes. Our IoT capability and projects sit within the Operational Technology (OT) team at Sydney Water.

Please note: This is a 24 months term role aligned to project funding cycles.

 What You'll Do:

Lead and Mentor: Lead Project teams to success, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture within the team and across the organisation

Deliver Excellence: Ensure projects are delivered efficiently and effectively, adhering to corporate standards.

Manage Multiple Projects: Oversee several projects simultaneously, engaging with numerous stakeholders.

Your Responsibilities:

Quality Solutions: Deliver fit-for-purpose solutions that provide real business benefits.

Business Cases: Prepare and secure timely approvals for robust business cases.

Financial Management: Oversee project budgets and forecasts, ensuring financial health.

Strategic Planning: Integrate projects into the broader Enterprise portfolio of work.

Resource and Vendor Management: Effectively manage team resources, including vendor resources and deliverables.

Full Managerial Authority: Assemble and lead virtual teams, ensuring they have the skills and resources needed to succeed.

Relationship Management: Foster strong, two-way, trusting relationships with your team, enabling them to achieve business goals and reach their full potential.

 About the candidate

A degree in technology or related sphere. 

Additional training and qualification in project management (Prince2 Certification).

10+ years’ experience successfully project managing technology projects; preferably a background in technology delivery before that. 

Experience building and maintaining high performing project teams

Ability to influence and motivate both project teams and stakeholders

Excellent communication skills through various communication methodologies

High emotional intelligence

Ability to organise and keep to task, even with competing priorities.
