About the role

You will be assisting the team to deliver community and stakeholder engagement services for Sydney Water’s major projects, complex issues and regional programs (including planning, maintenance and capital programs) across the relevant business groups in Sydney Water.

Ensure the successful development and delivery of projects and programs in the eyes of stakeholders by providing community engagement, strategic and tactical communications, issues management, as well as oversighting contractual obligations with partners providing these services.

What you will be doing

  • Support a best practice approach to community and stakeholder engagement across all relevant business units of Sydney Water.
  • Assist the team in the compiling of complex communication and engagement strategies to promote projects, protect reputation, manage issues and deliver successful programs.
  • Coordinate and assist the team in administration tasks associated with escalated complaints, enquiries and feedback from a variety of channels, and oversee complaint response by partners.
  • Record all stakeholder engagements in dedicated CRM programs.
  • Heavily focused around the effective development and delivery of community and stakeholder engagement plans for all projects in Infrastructure Delivery.

About you

  • A current NSW Driver’s license is required.
  • Experience in a community engagement, stakeholder engagement or corporate affairs, in a complex environment experiencing change.
  • Sound planning, influencing, negotiation, facilitation and issues and crisis management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to critically analyse data and information, interpret and present complex material to diverse audiences.
  • Understanding of the complexity of infrastructure projects in the planning and delivery stages, and associated community and stakeholder plans required for projects of a larger size is desired.
