About you

You have a solid understanding of construction management, with an ability to engage with the business to collaboratively mitigate risk on complex civil infrastructure programs of work. You have a good understanding of contract management, and an appreciation of how contracts should be administered in order to ensure risks to the business are managed effectively.

About the Role

In this role you will use your demonstrated experience in, and knowledge of, risk management to provide advice, services, assurance and reporting in an complex, fast-paced environment to support the implementation of risk management and risk reporting frameworks which will enable effective risk management of large infrastructure investment programs across Sydney Water’s Regional areas.

Part of the Project Controls P4S Team you will work closely with the project teams to ensure that all areas of risk with the potential to impact a project, program and maintenance works schedule are identified, documented, and reported, suitable solutions are developed and implemented, and the wider support and delivery teams are uplifted in their capabilities.

Your duties will involve:

  • Providing advice and reporting on risk and assurance in alignment with the Sydney Water Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
  • Supporting the delivery of project and program level risk reviews, and conduct risk workshops (i.e. pre and post construction contract) as required.
  • Create and maintain project risk register and mitigation plans across project life-cycle in a collaborative client/contractor arrangement
  • Evaluating risk likelihood and impact and prioritisation of these for analysis and response planning.
  • Supporting Sydney Water management requested assurance audits.
  • Working closely with the allocated Area Delivery Management team to conduct reviews and consolidation of Operational Risks.
  • Coordinating the identification and treatment of business area risks.
  • Partnering with the allocated Regional Area to resolve issues identified through internal and external audits relating to risk and assurance.
  • Contributing to the preparation of risk reports to governance committees.
  • Providing advice to the Regional Area on the integration of the risk framework into business frameworks and processes.
  • Maintaining the risk register and issue logs for the projects within the Regional Area, ensuring robust version document control and storage.
  • Providing risk management analytics and reports including charts, graphs and narrative information to identify issues, trends and opportunities.

You will Have

  • Tertiary qualifications in Risk, Quantity Surveying or Construction Management, Business Improvement, Management Systems or related field, or experience deemed equivalent
  • Knowledge of risk and assurance management frameworks and systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in the application of a risk management framework in a large organisation.
  • Risk management experience in infrastructure, project, safety, environmental, compliance, security or business continuity management
  • Experience in risk management and/or internal and/or management systems auditing.
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong research and analytical and problem-solving skills.
