What’s the role?
Reporting to the Delivery Program Leader as part of the Specialised Services team who manage a wide range of contracts supporting different businesses across Sydney Water.
The role delivers the optimal balance of operational, commercial, safety, environmental and regulatory outcomes, risks, and opportunities for critical operational contracts in Sydney Water and actively contributing to the effective management of these contracts.
- Manage operational interfaces between government agencies, private partners/ contractors and internal business units.
- Manage the commercial aspects of critical agreements to achieve the balance of operational, commercial, and regulatory outcomes.
- Perform commercial analysis of options and decisions in line with regulatory requirements and operational outcomes considering all necessary factors
- Complete administration of contracts and projects workplan delivery, including measurement and payments, evaluating performance, contract variations, cost adjustments, contract extensions and dispute resolution
- Help develop procurement strategies and procedures that meet commercial, operational, probity and risk management objectives.
Who are we looking for?
This position will best suit a team member with current demonstrated experience within contract and project management, strong computer skills using various applications and an ability to listen and interpret information is essential.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering or Science
- Valid NSW Drivers licence or ability to obtain one.
- Extensive relevant contract / project management experience, and/or relevant water industry construction or maintenance experience
- Knowledge in contract and project management, including detailed understanding of compliance, probity and audit requirements and how they relate to commercial contracts and projects.
- Experience in procurement activities contributing to the development of appropriate strategies, formulation and negotiation of commercial contracts and projects, and subsequent management of contracts including dispute resolution.
- Experience in ensuring work programs is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to quality supported by a strong audit methodology and continuous improvement.
