About the role
We are seeking a Business Case Assurance Specialist to report to the Investment Assurance Manager on a full-time permanent basis. This pivotal role will provide critical advice and assurance to our leadership team regarding the opportunity, risks, prudency, efficiency, and robustness of proposed business cases.
Please note: this role is internally titled Senior Investment Analyst.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide independent assurance on the robustness of business cases and the viability of expenditure proposals.
- Provide advice to executives, business managers, and stakeholders in the development of comprehensive business cases.
- Provide assurance to external agencies, including NSW Treasury, INSW, and IPART, regarding the prudency and efficiency of investment decisions.
- Exercise independent thinking to influence and constructively challenge stakeholders on capital expenditure proposals, ensuring optimal risk management and customer value.
Skills & Experience
- Qualifications: Relevant degree qualification (e.g. engineering, IT, procurement, accounting, policy, economics, business, science)
- Experience: Experience drafting, reviewing and/or assuring business cases for capital expenditure is essential. Knowledge of regulatory business practices, including the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal’s pricing process is preferred
- Skills: Skilled in collaborating internally to ensure business case proposals align with governance, laws, and policies, while leveraging technical expertise in business case appraisal to provide insightful challenges and evaluate the rigor of proposed capital expenditure decisions.

- You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident at the time of application.
