An exciting opportunity has been created to support targeted maintenance improvements within the Service Excellence Framework supporting the Georges River hub.

The Service Excellence Program is an asset management improvement program focussed on delivering the required business outputs by managing the program scope to time, quality, cost, resourcing, risks and issues, benefits, change, stakeholders, communications and integration.

We are developing and overseeing execution of the Maintenance Program including preventive maintenance strategies, major periodic maintenance and root cause investigations of our assets. We are also initiating and driving improvement programs.


Responsibilities:

Ensuring new assets consider safety in design in relation to maintenance and utilising the latest university lead research for remote sensing, robotic inspections and AI/machine learning guided analytics. Provide technical leadership for Maintenance Improvement activities such as:

  • Preventative Maintenance review and improvement
  • Lubrication practice refinement
  • Asset data improvements
  • Maintenance Management strategy optimisation and implementation
  • Critical Spares identification

These roles are based at Sydney Water’s Potts Hill office with travel required to Hubs or depots with Sydney Water’s operating area dependant on the location of the maintenance review and the associated O&M team.

Essential Criteria: 

  • Strong understanding of reliability centred maintenance, including development of risk-based maintenance strategies and use of reliability tools such as FMECA, RCA  
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical or electrical assets. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and lateral thinking.  
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal customers and stakeholders, managing and delivering on their expectations.  
  • A university degree qualification in engineering (preferably mechanical, electrical. mechatronics or similar) and/or equivalent experience in operations and maintenance
  • Experience in computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) Maximo or equivalent. 
  • Experience with complex asset management applicable to water/wastewater treatment or similar and/ or related engineering field.
