Purpose of the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Investment Assurance Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will contribute to providing advice and assurance to Leadership regarding the opportunities, risks, prudency, efficiency, and robustness of proposed investment decisions.

This role involves supporting Senior Investment Analysts in reviewing high complexity proposals and ensuring that investment proposals are robustly and comprehensively developed and articulated, in compliance with Sydney Water’s business case requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the rigour and adequacy of investment and procurement proposals for executive management.
  • Assist and support Senior Investment Analysts in reviewing and assessing business cases and procurement strategies.
  • Provide guidance to business case writers on low-complexity proposals.
  • Lead reviews on low-complex investment proposals.
  • Ensure adequate governance of project approvals and robust application of business decision frameworks.
  • Update templates, processes, procedures, and guidance.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports for the Board, Board committees, and the Executive.
  • Manage Secretariat functions for the Investment Review Committee.
  • Support the delivery of Sydney Water’s Third Line of Assurance function for major projects.
  • Undertake reviews of compliance with Sydney Water’s investment governance framework.
  • Conduct trend analysis and report findings to Senior Management, identifying and driving remedial actions

Skills & Experience:

  • Well-developed written, verbal, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organisation and coordination skills
  • Proven ability to establish, manage, and maintain constructive and effective stakeholder relationships.
