Organic Chemistry laboratory tests methods across all products, such as source water, drinking water, wastewater, recycled water, environmental waters (i.e. river, beaches, ocean sediments), stormwater, biosolids, sludges, grit & screenings. We have accreditation in NATA ISO/IEC 17025 for both field sampling and laboratory analysis.
Responsibilities:
As a Level 4 Water Quality Analyst, you will demonstrate the following:
- Expensive experience in ICMS, LCMSMS or GCMSMS including maintenance, high level troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
- Carry out laboratory preparation and analysis using instrumentation within agreed customer timeframes
- Providing leadership and technical expertise in method development and validation
- Training and mentoring staff
- Advanced knowledge of the chemical and physical processes within a variety of water environment and ability to carry our investigations pertaining to monitoring and control of these systems
- Define, maintain, services and trouble shoot, simple and complex field and/or laboratory instruments
- Authorise results, identify abnormal results and define corrective action
- Need to be available for additional out of hours work or to be on call. Must be available to work on a rostered basis on weekends and public holidays.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Carry out laboratory preparation and analysis using instrumentation within agreed customer timeframes under ISO/IEC 17025 accredited conditions
- Providing leadership and technical expertise in method development and validation
- Proven ability to install, program, operate, maintain and troubleshoot field and laboratory monitoring equipment
- Training and mentoring staff
- Advanced knowledge of quality assurance requirements for analysis of water and wastewater products, including NATA ISO 17025 accreditation and ISO 9000 quality system requirements.
- Defining and implementing opportunities to optimise assets, equipment, systems and processes
- Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement initiatives and completing complex projects within assigned time and resources
- Awareness of safety requirements related to the role and ability to demonstrate personal responsibility for safety and well being
