About your role:

Lead and manage the Project Planning and Scheduling team and Systems within each region, aligned to best practice and overall functional requirements, in order to meet Sydney Water and customer needs. For each region lead scheduler is responsible to ensure projects are appropriately planned to cover the full project scope and all project phases. Ensure schedules are optimised for the delivery of all projects and programs, meeting project objectives, timelines and budgets. Ensure consistency, accuracy and efficiency in scheduling within the region. Provide guidance to the regional scheduling team ensuring productivity, project KPI’s and team goal expectations are met.

 Responsibilities include but are not limited to;  

  •  Evaluate current procedures and recommend changes to improve efficiency of planning and scheduling.
  • Create and maintain activity/project codes.
  • Ensure project schedules are prepared, in accordance with SWC Scheduling processes and procedures, to deliver projects on time and within budget, from Project Initiation through to Close Out and Handover.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure project schedules are aligned.
  • Establish project key milestones and ensure they are tracked and reported on for the region.
  • Identify the critical path for the project and detail in the schedule; report progress against the path as required.
  • Maintain and update schedules and ensure the PM is aware of any critical issues which may affect critical path or milestones.
  • Assist with the review and approval of Contractors’ Schedules
  • Assist the Project Manager with the validation of contractor extension of time (EOT) claims and ensure the EOT claims are incorporated into the schedule baseline as required.
  • Prepare and monitor regional variance reports in respect of progress, costs, time and resources against plan and schedule.
  • Participate in regional management meetings and provide input in terms of projects performance, area for improvement and key issues.
  • Monitor variance reports in respect of progress, for time and, cost and resources if appropriate, against plan and schedule. Recommend and provide solutions and improvements on planning and scheduling where applicable.
  • Actively participate and provide input in preparation of AIWP.
  • Provide input to regional performance report with recommendation for improvements.

About you 

  • Managing large number of projects’ schedules
  • Identifying needs for wide range of stakeholders
  • Work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ensure efficiency of the team and avoid duplication of efforts within the region.
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or related field
  • Project Management qualifications / certificates
