About the role

This role will be work across the Sample Management Team (sample receipt) in Laboratory Services

In this fulltime opportunity you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely receipt of samples into Laboratory Services and organise the co-ordination of samples to external laboratories

This role will require you to:

  • Ability to work efficiently with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail whilst managing competing demands.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers, ensuring that their needs are understood, and the best solutions are determined for everyone
  • Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and complete tasks on time
  • Awareness of safety requirements in a laboratory environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Experience working in a NATA accredited laboratory and an understanding of ISO/IEC 17025 and other quality control processes
  • Effective communication skills
  • Intermediate computer skills and knowledge or use of Labware


About you

A fantastic entry level progressive opportunity to join the Sample Management team, requiring a team member with 1+ years experience in laboratory and preferably in the water industry. Successful team member will require either a TAFE certification, degree or similar qualification in chemistry, biology or equivalent:

  • Willing to work outside core hours on a rotational basis, flexible start/finish times between 7am to 7pm to meet contractual obligations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction
  • Proven attention to detail and accuracy in following procedures, documentation and data entry
  • Intermediate computer skills working with Microsoft office, Labware and other relevant software packages
  • Work cooperatively with team members to ensure customer requirements are met and operations are efficient
  • Awareness of safety requirements related to the role and ability to demonstrate personal responsibility for safety
  • Demonstrate continued willingness to cross train and be amenable to rotation through all areas of Laboratory Services, as appropriate.
