About the role

The purpose of this role is to build and manage productive business relationships with development stakeholders such as developers, water service coordinators and councils, to ensure optimised investment efficiency and liveability outcomes.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Proactively manage relationships with professional developers and their water service coordinator/s within the region to build strategic, long-term relationships that deliver the optimal infrastructure outcomes for growth and development.

• Manage Sydney Water’s engagement with project managers working for Developers to manage the delivery of new assets for the corporation and impacts on existing Sydney Water assets.

• Oversee the end-to-end case management of medium and high complexity developer projects to deliver against requirements, delivering on time and meeting quality and regulatory requirements.

• Interface with key councils and provide pre- development application advice for significant development and redevelopment sites.

• Collect development servicing data from internal and external stakeholders to inform servicing strategies and identify threats and opportunities concerning the strategy delivery.

• Support the Account Managers and Leadership Team as the point of advice and escalation for project and case matters for the team

• Ensure compliance with internal design standards and potential risks, ensuring that costs are managed and recovered where applicable.

About you

• Demonstrated experience in project management, including sound stakeholder management and engagement experience.

• Experience in working within a development servicing/ infrastructure planning environment

• Experience in forming and maintaining strong, constructive business relationships

• Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. urban planning, engineering, business or related discipline) or experience deemed equivalent. Project management qualifications desirable

• Sound knowledge of regulatory requirements associated with the delivery of capital works.

• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to consult, negotiate and liaise effectively with a diverse range of people.
