Everyday Sydney Water is providing world-class water and wastewater services to the over 5 million people who call Greater Sydney home. We have an extensive capital delivery program to ensure we can continue to deliver for our customers, both now and in the future.

In this role, the Delivery Works Planner will be responsible for the preparation of the master project schedules and plans covering the full project scope across all project phases – project inception through to operations. This role optimises delivery to ensure delivery of all projects and programs meet the project objectives, timelines and budgets whilst maintaining consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in scheduling across Project Delivery.

The role leads a team that undertakes project planning and scheduling aligned to best practice and overall functional requirements, to meet Sydney Water and stakeholder needs, as well as the provision of construction and cost time efficiency reviews of contractor programs providing findings, proposals, and corrective actions. About you

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience using MS Project, Primavera P6, and knowledge of project cost estimating, tracking and control
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in projects, infrastructure, construction or maintenance industries as project management, engineering or a controls discipline (cost, risk, quality, safety, contracts, etc) – Not works planning or scheduling
  • Some hands-on experience with enterprise-wide cost accounting system, SAP – preferred.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and oversight completion of delivery plans for works greater than $10M and/or with greater than 25 staff delay and facilitating interventions as required
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts and best practices for scheduling
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Customer focus and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Problem solving
  • Strong organisational skill
  • Advance knowledge in using Excel.
