Join Sydney Water in our Water Resource and Recovery team as a Contract Manager. This hands on and exciting role will manage supplier contracts across a diverse range of facilities. Although based at Potts Hill the role will require some flexibility and travel to a range of sites.
About the role:
This role is critical to delivery of the optimal balance of operational, commercial, safety, environmental and regulatory outcomes, risks and opportunities for operational contracts in Sydney Water. These include contracts for major water resource recovery facilities, plant facilities contracts, and the supply and services of residuals management contracts to Sydney Water's treatment plants. You will also provide leadership in the management of these contracts including a strong operational risk, safety and management focus.
What you will be doing:
- Operational management of the relationships between Sydney Water and our suppliers and contractors, informing decision making with respect to these contracts, including incident management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and regulatory representatives
- Contract administration of the assigned contract including budget management, report, data analytics
- Oversee critical contracts to balance operational, commercial, and regulatory needs; lead commercial analysis within regulatory and operational frameworks; manage contracts in alignment with Sydney Water’s governance; and demonstrate ethical leadership in navigating competing priorities.
- Support the development of procurement strategies for Water Resource Recovery contracts, ensuring commercial, operational, probity, and risk objectives;
- Lead tender preparation and evaluation, including scope development, provide technical assistance in contract creation and negotiation for effective organisational outcomes.
Your Experience and Qualifications:
In addition to relevant tertiary qualifications or experience deem equivalent, and full drivers licence, you will have strong relationship-building skills and be an effective collaborator
- Skilled in conflict resolution and managing competing priorities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication across all levels.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills.
- Proficient in learning and using software for data analysis and operations.
- Ability to present complex data clearly.
- Relevant experience in the water industry and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrated initiative in work management and process improvements.
