The Head of Innovation & Customer Programs position provides leadership and direction to the Innovation & Customer Programs business unit. The role champions the needs of customers by leading the delivery of innovative solutions and programs that supports customers and meets their diverse needs through: 

  • Driving innovation within the organisation and attracting innovation from outside the organisation for the benefit of customers. 
  • Leading the organisation in research for new products, product enhancements and product redesign and customer programs. 
  • Leading the development, delivery and embedding of new and/or enhanced products and services for customers through an agile product development framework. 
  • Leading the ideation, development, implementation and management of new and existing customer programs designed to offer tailored solutions to support customers and the agencies who may represent them, to deliver an exceptional customer experience. 
  • Developing and maintaining commercial relationships with research and innovation partners so that an effective open innovation environment exists across the organisation. 
  • Engaging with various stakeholders to develop research and development partnerships

About the role 

Using leadership skill and management experience, the Head of Innovation & Customer Programs manages the pipeline of innovation, product and service development for customers across the organisation by:  

  • Leading the innovation and produce development framework. 
  • Leading innovation and the product pipeline. 
  • Partnering on new and enhanced product and services for customers. 
  • Leading market intelligence. 
  • Preparing business cases to support the initial investment and return on new customer programs. 
  • Delivering the intended benefits of Customer Program business case. 
  • Leading the operational delivery of water conservation program initiatives. 

About you 

As a senior leader, it is expected that you have approximately 10+ years’ experience in senior innovation and/or customer program roles, preferably within the utilities sector. It is also important that you have/demonstrate: 

  • Relevant degree qualification or experience deemed equivalent. Relevant industry accreditations considered favourably. 
  • In collaboration with the enterprise leadership team, give efficacy to the business’s strategic direction, drive delivery of initiatives and build organisational capability. 
  • Extensive leadership experience. 
  • Experience in delivering projects in complex stakeholder and customer-oriented environments.
