About your role:

To coordinate, support and deliver asset infrastructure research and innovation project outcomes across the organisation. This role will need to work closely with the R&I team and across the business to identify and scope new R&I opportunities while also deploying and implementing current projects into the business. The focus to work on collaborative research projects which address critical asset performance and lifecycle knowledge gaps. It will also need to support activities to better promote and drive innovation within Sydney Water, including delivery of the Innovation, Research, and Deployment plan.

 Responsibilities include but are not limited to;  

  • Assist, support and coordinate projects of a technical nature and build over time the know-how and expertise to project manage multidisciplinary projects.
  • Develop and prepare project documentation for approvals and reporting.
  • Development of project management plan in collaboration with internal stakeholders and also research partners.
  • Facilitating project expense payments through BXP and EPPM reporting where required.
  • Ensure work undertaken complies with project scope and meets operational requirements.
  • Monitoring progress of project aspects and identifying potential problems with respect to budgets, schedules, deliverables and standards.
  • Assist with management of contractual and administrative issues including IP, risk and insurance associated with research agreements.
  • Assist with team meeting and planning sessions, providing administrative support to the team including review of agendas, minutes & follow up actions.
  • Coordinate and advise on critical research initiatives with Sydney Water BOO partners

 About you 

  • Science, engineering, or STEM degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent.
  • A current driver’s license.
  • At least 2+ years relevant experience in engineering, science, research, and innovation or STEM
  • Experience in managing engineering and/or research projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in utilising engineering principles and/or research methodologies and tools.
  • Ability to apply knowledge across a broad range of project areas.
  • An understanding of how to work with research universities and government entities.
  • Experience in stakeholder management at various levels within an organisation and externally.
  • Knowledge of the water industry and/or large utilities
