Who are we?

Our Team has the responsibility to develop our property portfolio asset strategy, plan and budget the Capex and Opex programs, to effectively meet the needs of the business. We’re also responsible for the management of Statutory and Legislative Real Estate compliance.

Our property portfolio is vast and diverse, comprising of office accommodation, depots, labs, treatment plants, reservoirs, pumping stations, land used as a public parks, farms and golf courses.

The portfolio consists of >1,500 buildings, 4,400 land lots, 20,000 easements, 200 state and local heritage items, 730 leases, licences and permits (including 282 telco occupations).

What’s the role?

The role collaborates across multi-disciplinary teams within Sydney Water, Partnering for Success (P4S model), and external contractors to ensure effective program development and delivery.

This is an opportunity for an experienced person develop and manage property asset programs involving upgrades, maintenance, repairs, renewals and refurbishments of real estate assets.

  • Oversee programs, issue instructions, manage tasks and modular components of projects (at all levels of risk/complexity) from project initiation to completion.
  • Develop, manage and update Project Management Plans (PMP) with clear targets, objectives, KPl's, scope of work, milestones, risks, controls, costs and deliverables which meet the business needs and ensure the effective delivery of the project.
  • Report on project status including KPl's, cost, budgets, schedule, risk and any variations.
  • Ensure Quality, WHS and Environmental plans are developed, reviewed, approved and monitored to ensure compliance to contract and SWC Management plans.
  • Monitor the implementation of a multi-disciplined Facilities Management program.

 

Who are we looking for? 

You have demonstrated program development and project management experience in Civil, Workplace, Fit Out, Facilities Management, Building Services, Construction, Restoration & Heritage programs or similar, coupled with knowledge of relevant legislative and compliance requirements (such as Work Health and Safety and Building Code of Australia)

You are a confident communicator and a natural influencer who has experience working in facilities management and/or project environments, preferably within operational or large-scale capital works programs.

  • Relevant degree qualification (Property, Project Management, Engineering, Architecture) or experience deemed equivalent.
  • 10+ years’ experience working in property, design, construction, and/or project management.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing the delivery of property related projects, facilities management programs, multi-disciplinary construction, fit out and/or building services projects.
  • Experience in managing various forms of commercial arrangements, dealing with local and other government authorities to drive ‘value for money’ outcomes.
