About Role

The Senior Integration Solution Architect provides technical leadership and solution delivery across the Digital Business Programs portfolio at Sydney Water. The is responsible for leading the definition, design and governance of integration solution architectures that enable large‑scale, complex business change initiatives. The role is accountable for defining and implementing high‑quality integration solutions are scalable, secure, resilient and aligned with Sydney Water’s Digital Strategy, architecture standards, and agreed design patterns.

In addition to solution delivery, the role provides practice leadership across the Digital Architecture community, including resource management, work allocation, governance, and continuous improvement of integration and architecture capability.

What You’ll Bring:

Solution Architecture & Delivery

  • Define and implement end‑to‑end solutions across the Digital and Corporate Factory portfolio to meet business needs.
  • Collaborate closely with Development and Delivery teams to ensure solutions, as delivered, are aligned with approved Solution Architectures.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend appropriate technologies and solution options.
  • Work with Architects, Business Analysts, and Project Managers to define business outcomes and product roadmaps.
  • Contribute directly to the delivery of complex solutions, providing advanced technical and architectural input.

Architecture Quality, Standards & Governance

  • Ensure developed or modified application components align with business and solution architectures, meeting performance, scalability, and security requirements.
  • Ensure alignment to enterprise architecture principles, standards, policies, and frameworks.
  • Ensure technical lifecycle management processes are defined and applied.

Cost, Risk & Decision Optimisation

  • Estimate the cost of end‑to‑end solutions and recommend solution options that minimise total cost of ownership.
  • Optimise delivery of enterprise roadmaps and strategic content across the solution portfolio.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work with internal and external delivery partners to maximise business value from delivered platforms and solutions.
  • Partner with key stakeholders on large and complex initiatives, driving delivery of architected solutions.

Practice Improvement & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide input into the ongoing improvement of the Digital Architecture practice.
  • Support the development, standardisation, and reuse of architectural assets, tools, and methodologies.

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience leading the development of integration solution architectures for large and complex business transformation programmes, typically involving:
  • Multiple business domains
  • Numerous internal and external systems
  • High transaction volumes and critical business processes
  • Demonstrated ability to operate as a lead architect, setting architectural direction and guiding delivery teams across multiple workstreams.
  • Extensive experience working in complex enterprise environments, including legacy platforms, SaaS applications and cloud‑native services.
  • Strong track record of collaborating with:
  • Business stakeholders and product owners
  • Enterprise and domain architects
  • Delivery leads, engineers and vendors
  • Experience supporting programmes through architecture governance, including design assurance, review boards and compliance with standards.

 Qualification and Experience:

  • Tertiary degree qualifications in information technology, computer science or similar tertiary qualifications
  • Proven experience delivering complex digital solutions as a Senior Solution Architect
  • Strong understanding of enterprise and solution architecture, governance, and lifecycle management
  • Ability to influence, lead, and collaborate across business, delivery, and technical teams
  • Experience optimising solutions for business value, cost, and long‑term sustainability
