We are seeking a highly capable and strategic Senior Commercial Specialist (Digital) to support a commercial manager in delivering best-in-class procurement services. This role is critical in ensuring the organisation sources and implements critical digital solutions on time, and at the best total cost of ownership. 

  • Shape the future of digital procurement by leading strategic sourcing initiatives across software, cloud services, and IT infrastructure.
  • Be a trusted advisor to Project Working Groups (PWGs), offering expert commercial guidance and financial insights that influence major technology decisions.
  • Drive innovation and value by designing and executing procurement strategies that unlock cost efficiencies, manage risk, and support digital transformation.
  • Own the full commercial lifecycle—from market engagement and negotiation to contract award and performance management—ensuring optimal outcomes.
  • Champion continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to elevate procurement practices and deliver measurable impact for Sydney Water.
  • Lead with influence, supporting and mentoring team members to deliver best-in-class procurement services in a collaborative, high-performance environment.
  • Align with purpose, contributing meaningfully to our Procurement vision and playing a key role in achieving strategic business objectives.

About You

  • You bring deep expertise in digital procurement, with a strong track record in sourcing IT services, software, and cloud solutions within complex environments.
  • You’re a strategic thinker and relationship builder, able to partner with technology leaders and influence commercial outcomes at all levels.
  • You have strong commercial acumen, with hands-on experience in contract negotiation, supplier management, and procurement governance.
  • You thrive in dynamic, fast-paced settings, and are passionate about driving innovation and continuous improvement in procurement.
  • You hold relevant qualifications in procurement, commercial management, or IT (e.g. CIPS, ITIL), and are committed to professional growth.
  • You have 5+ years’ experience in digital procurement or commercial roles, ideally within large, complex organisations or technology-driven sectors.
