About the role

Working within a high-performing Procurement team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality procurement analytics, reporting and insights that will enable Procurement to deliver strategic value to Sydney Water. You will use procurement data to produce high‑quality analysis, reporting, and insights that support informed decision‑making and improve procurement performance, governance, and value for money across the end‑to‑end procurement lifecycle. You will also provide crucial support to the team through providing insights on cost drivers, procurement performance outcomes, and validation of contract price reviews.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Developing, maintaining, and enhancing procurement reports, dashboards, and performance metrics using data from various systems, using Power BI and Databricks
  • Ensuring accuracy and reliability to deliver clear insights that support informed decision‑making, performance improvement, and governance
  • Reporting on the source-to-pay process and objects, milestones, risks, and outcomes, ensuring accuracy and reliability
  • Providing analytical support across procurement activities, including baseline development, benefits identification, validation, and ongoing benefits tracking in line with the procurement benefits framework
  • Ensuring all proposed contract price reviews are correct and in line with the terms of the contract
  • Supporting continuous improvement by identifying data quality issues, reporting gaps, and opportunities to improve procurement analytics and reporting practices

About you

You have a strong understanding of procurement processes and experience working with procurement data to deliver clear, reliable analysis and reporting. You are comfortable translating data into meaningful insights, work independently, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and present ideas clearly to support decision‑making. You are outcome‑focused, proactive, and skilled at documenting your work clearly to support governance, transparency, and knowledge sharing.

You will have:

  • Relevant degree qualification (e.g. Procurement, Data and Analytics, Business) or experience deemed equivalent
  •  4+ years’ experience working in Procurement analytics in a large complex organisation, preferably in a similar organisation or industry sector
  • Sound knowledge of effective Procurement policy, and procedure
  • Advanced MS Excel and Power BI capabilities
  • Demonstrated experience in applying best-in-class analytical tools and technique, including but not limited to Power BI, developing and maintaining data cleansing and mapping rules.
  • Professional Procurement desirable (e.g. MCIPS) and/or Procurement (e.g. APICS, MCILT) qualification.
  • Business Process Improvement or Project Management qualification or experience desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering process improvement across Procurement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to consult, negotiate, and work under pressure to liaise effectively with a diverse range of people.
  • Familiar with MS Power Platform and Databricks (SQL and Python)
