About the role

The Management Information Systems Manager is responsible for the ongoing improvement across finance, procurement, supply chain and program management. Key to this role is your ability to provide strategic thinking and leadership to the team responsible for systems improvement, learning and support of SAP and related systems. You will need to have excellent stakeholder management skills as you will be working with various teams across the whole of Sydney Water. 

Whilst technical skills are an important requirement for this role, to succeed in the position, you will need to showcase your strategic thinking, excellent communication, and negotiation skills. This is an exciting and broad role, where no two days will be the same.

You will be responsible for:

  • Translation of complex technical requirements into clear business language.
  • Managing a team through role clarity, open and constructive communication as well as effective leaderships practices.
  • Providing strategic guidance to the business analysts in identifying high priority business processes for analysis and improvement.
  • Leading analysists to manage end to end change and maintenance request process and prioritisation.
  • Lead a community of practice for SAP superusers to ensure functional support and strategic advice as to SAP releases, upgrades, and future roadmap.

About you

This role will suit someone who has 7+ years-experience in systems improvement and support. You can demonstrate:

  • Relevant business degree and/or demonstrated business and IT experience deemed equivalent.
  • High level stakeholder management and the ability to work with senior executives.
  • Demonstrated success leading continuous improvement of SAP systems and process in a complex organisation from go live to system stabilisation and BAU.
  • Demonstrated high level strategic and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience leading a team, including managing conflicting priorities and dealing with emerging issues.
  • Proven ability to manage transformational change with the transition from current systems and processes to SAP.
  • Demonstrated people management skills and the ability to lead people through change.
  • Strong analytical, planning and business management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as superior negotiation and relation management skills.
  • Proficiency in SAP S/4 HANA and related systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and high-level conflict resolution skills, with the ability to resolve sensitive and complex issues.
