What will you be doing?­

As a Development Project Manager, you will build and manage productive business relationships with development and infrastructure delivery stakeholders such as developers, water service coordinators, tier 1 head contractors and councils, to ensure optimised investment efficiency and liveability outcomes.

We currently have a term position available until end of December 2024, which could lead to a permanent opportunity in the future.

The key function of this role is to effectively manage the end-to-end review and processing delivery of significant Complex Asset projects, meeting quality, time and budgetary requirements. This role will contribute to the development of commercial arrangements that integrate and protect the delivery of water related services with new development.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Proactively manage relationships with developers from the private and public sector and their water service coordinator/s within the region to build strategic, long term relationships that deliver the optimal infrastructure outcomes for development and growth.
  • Manage Sydney Water’s engagement with project directors, and project managers to manage the delivery of new assets for the corporation and impacts on existing Sydney Water assets.
  • Oversee the end-to-end case management of medium and high complexity infrastructure projects to deliver against requirements
  • Interface with key government organisations and councils to provide pre- development application advice for significant development and redevelopment sites.
  • Ensure compliance with internal design standards and potential risks, ensuring that costs are managed and recovered where applicable

Who are we looking for?

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Engineering, Construction, Business or Project Management) or experience deemed equivalent
  • Sound knowledge of requirements associated with the delivery of capital works within a government or head contracting business
  • Experience reviewing / drafting utility designs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to consult, negotiate, and work under pressure to liaise effectively with a diverse range of people
  • Sound planning, organisational, time and project management skills
  • Experience in working within a development servicing/ infrastructure planning environment
