About the role

 The Information Management Specialist – Records Management, is a member of the Information Management Centre (IMC) team. This role is responsible for improving Information Management across Sydney Water leveraging your records Management expertise to improve practices and address issues across Sydney Water. This includes:

Collaborate with process owners to develop and implement compliant information management practices including producing procedures, standards and guidelines

Provide expert advice on the efficient and compliant management of documents and records within the NSW State Records Act

 Drive and monitor the adoption, compliance to and effectiveness of the Records and Document Management practices, inform power users and process owners; refer to managers and / or review the implementation approach.

Your role will involve:

Design and implement consultancy, support and communication initiatives that build awareness and organisational capability in recordkeeping and information sharing including promoting the use of Sydney Water’s records systems. 

Conduct and report on an annual review of the Sydney Water Records Management activities (e.g. RMAT) and practices to ensure its currency and relevance to a changing business and regulatory environment.

Contribute to business change and innovation through the communication channels and the education and support of a network of key users and champions across the business.

Maintain expert knowledge and understanding of recordkeeping requirements

Prepare high level advice, reports and submissions on complex and specific recordkeeping as required by legislation and in response to Management, Board and Ministerial representations

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders to provide Recordkeeping advice.

 About the candidate

Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Information science or Business (or experience deemed equivalent)

5 years in Information Management roles

Demonstrable record in managing, implementing, and supporting EDRMS, search and glossary technologies in a complex business environment

Experience in building and sustaining change momentum in a large organisation

 Business analysis methodologies for information solution designs

Knowledge of the State Records Act, Guidelines and Standards; Privacy and other applicable legislation as they apply to a State Owned Corporation

Knowledge of Records Management, Privacy, GIPA (Freedom of Information) and other compliance and best practice requirements.

Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict in business priorities and resources to deliver projects, expert advice and support services
