If you are passionate about primary health care and love a challenge we’d love to here from you. In our Health Centre at Acacia Prison, you will work in a close knit and supportive team including; the Nurse Unit Manager, Mental Health, Alcohol & Other Drugs, Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Nurses and Chronic and Complex Care. This position is a casual role in our primary health care team and provides you with the opportunity to gain experience within other departments in the health care centre at Acacia.

As a Registered Nurse in the Primary Health Care team, you’ll make a positive impact by:

  • Providing a comprehensive and accurate health assessment for patients
  • Creating care plans and evaluate patient’s progress towards expected outcomes.
  • Knowledge of the principles of prevention and harm minimisation
  • Providing clinical supervision to Enrolled Nurses and Medication Assistants

The ideal candidate will have strong clinical assessment and intervention skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team. They should demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality care to a diverse population and possess a proactive approach to problem-solving in a challenging environment. A passion for ongoing professional development and a strong adherence to ethical and professional standards are essential.

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • ALS1 Certificate in the last 12 months (or willing to obtain prior to starting)
  • 3 years clinical experience in a Primary health or acute setting (desirable)
