About the Opportunity

You are an enthusiastic and dedicated Registered Nurse with Mental Health experience who is committed to providing service excellence to everyone in your care. Work in a small knit Mental Health team that are a part of the larger Health Services team at Acacia Prison. You will support the medical management and health care of prisoners, through robust clinical assessment processes and the creation, implementation and management of prisoner care plans.

What you’ll be doing 

  • Provide a comprehensive and accurate health assessment for patients
  • Create care plans and evaluate patient’s progress towards expected outcomes
  • Facilitate patient access to pharmacotherapy treatment
  • Integrate relevant, comprehensive information which includes the patients’ risks and strengths, providing appropriate interventions to mitigate risks

About you - your ideal skills & experience 

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Relevant post-graduate qualifications (desirable)
  • 2 years clinical experience in a mental health or acute setting
  • Experience in conducting health assessments and case management of patient’s health care
