Key Role Requirements:

1.  Wellness & Hygiene Operations      

Assist with Wellness & Hygiene team rostering, on the job training and operational support on an ongoing basis to a high standard

Proactively and strategically manage the roster for the Wellness & Hygiene team including covering absenteeism and scheduling annual leave so that the business operation is not impacted

Oversee the daily cleaning operation and presentation of public areas including common areas, bathrooms, lounges, reception, cinemas, meeting rooms, reception, gym, laundry and corridors including undertaking these activities where required to operationally support

Support in managing the cleaning operations of departure and stayover apartments, including the stripping and making of beds

Support within managing stock ordering, stock control and chemical handling

Manage the allocated housekeeping storerooms

Support the Operations team in the completion of room checks and reports as and when required

Conduct site inspections, 'walk throughs' ensuring public areas and common areas are always presented to a high standard and maintenance issues are reported

·Assist with the coordination of operational workflows and help to ensure effective communication between relevant team members

Supporting the Wellness and Hygiene Manager with managing third party contractors

Ensure team members have a current knowledge of all room categories and other general knowledge necessary to perform their duties

Read, understand and ensure all internal company policies are adhered to all time

Drive strategies that are in place or initiated by the Wellness & Hygiene Manager

Perform any other reasonable duties as allocated by Operations Management

Respond to resident enquiries and requests in a professional and timely manner

Stand in for the Wellness &. Hygiene Manager in their absence

2. Relationship Management & Leadership

Develop and maintain effective relationships with peers and other stakeholders

Communications with the Facilities team and organise any cleaning / maintenance required as a result of the quarterly inspections

Develop effective internal networks across other buildings, and the wider Scape asset, contributing to overall team success

Assist in team development to support transition and growth through available internal pathways

Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics in all duties to motivate the team duties and lead by example

Support the Wellness &. Hygiene Manager in effectively managing the performance of all team members with support from the People team

3. Risk & Safety

Be fluent in Fire and Emergency Management procedures and work with Operations Management to ensure that all team members and are trained in this area

Be fluent with the Safety Management Plan and Work Health and Safety procedures and policies

Be fluent with the Resident Handbook, Community Guidelines and regulations, enforcing them with impartiality

Conduct site inspections, 'walk throughs' and maintain a continual presence within all areas of the site

Ensure compliance with existing operational legislation, including Data Protection and Privacy policies, Work Health and Safety procedures and policies

Participate in regular toolbox talks, property and state WH&.S meetings to assist with identifying and mitigating risk

Support the ongoing Occupational Health and Safety framework ensuring a culture of best practice across the portfolio.

Ensure the safety and security of all residents, team members and guests, where practically possible

4. Incident Management

Provide reporting on any risks and incidents that arise and ensure Scape's incident policies and procedures are followed

Effectively manage incidents in line with Scape's Incidents Management plans, policies and guidelines

Ensure the appropriate escalation and communication of an incident to management and any other relevant persons and stakeholders, in line with Scape's current Incident Management plans, policies, procedures and guidelines

Immediately assess and ensure the ongoing safety and security of all resident and team members following the occurrence of an incident

5. Environmental, Social & Governance

Implement initiatives that support achievement of the Scape ESG strategy &. targets

Keep relevant records (photos, descriptions, number of participants, outcomes achieved) of ESG initiatives and events

Undertake periodic training in relevant aspects of the Scape ESG strategy & targets

6. Legal & Compliance

Be fully aware of the local legislative compliance and applicable rules and regulations, and work with the relevant Wellness & Hygiene Manager to enforce them with fairness

Familiarise yourself with the industrial instruments e.g., Hospitality Industry (General) Award (HIGA) in which Scape engages Wellness & Hygiene team members

Knowledge, skills and experience:

·        Previous experience in hospitality, specifically within a housekeeping environment

·        Previous experience working with third party contractors (desirable)

·        Worked in a position managing a team where you have had to take a high level of responsibility

·        Be proactive, committed and with high attention to detail

·        Strong communication skills that promote positive interactions with stakeholders and residents

·        Knowledge of safe and efficient operating procedures

·        Experience in leading and training a team to provide amazing customer experiences

·        Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all tasks

·        Demonstrated enthusiasm and energy for the allocated site with a proven ability to work with and relate to young adults whilst also maintaining professional boundaries

·        Ability to operate within delegated budgets

·        Hands on with the ability to assist the team with room cleans, public area cleaning, room checks/audits

·        Ability to prioritise and multitask

·        Fully aware with Work Health and Safety (WHS) best practice

·        Ability to obtain a National Criminal History Check and Working with Children Check
