About the Role
The Facilities and Assets Officer is a key operational role within Ruah’s Corporate Services team, reporting to the Facilities & Asset Manager. The role supports the safe, compliant and effective operation of Ruah’s facilities, assets, fleet and workplace safety systems across a diverse portfolio of sites.
The successful candidate will be a practical and well-organised professional who coordinates property maintenance, asset management and WHS activities, working closely with internal teams and external contractors. This role plays an important part in ensuring workplaces are fit for purpose, risks are managed, and compliance obligations are met, enabling services to focus on delivering positive outcomes for clients.
By collaborating with staff across the organisation, the Facilities and Assets Officer contributes to safe systems of work, supports contractor compliance, and helps embed a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
This role will have three primary components:
- Facilities and property maintenance coordination
- Asset and fleet management
- Work Health and Safety coordination and compliance
This is a full-time permanent position, working 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The position is based at Ruah’s Northbridge office, with travel to metropolitan and regional sites as required.
What we’re looking for
The successful applicants will be required to meet the following criteria:
- Demonstrated experience in facilities, assets, property maintenance or a similar role.
- Experience coordinating contractors and service providers, including maintenance, cleaning, security, and compliance services.
- Working knowledge of Work Health and Safety legislation, including hazard identification, incident reporting, and safety compliance.
- Experience using maintenance, asset, fleet, or building management systems.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing demands.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including preparing reports and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
The following criteria are considered desirable:
- A relevant qualification in Facilities Management, Property, Building Services, WHS, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience supporting site relocations, refurbishments or fit-out projects.
- Experience working in a community services, not-for-profit, or human services environment.
- Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards.
