Are you a Distribution Line Mechanic or willing to take on an apprenticeship, and want to work for a progressive, innovative company in the stunning southern region of NZ?

Join us at our Lumsden Depot where you are only one hour away from skiing and mountain biking in Queenstown, 45 minutes from boating and tramping in Fiordland, and you'll have amazing fishing rivers right at your back door!

As a Line Mechanic, your work takes you to heartland communities and vast, open country, delivering safe, efficient and reliable power to the southern region. You’ll be part of a dynamic and forward-thinking distribution team who safely build and maintain reliable electricity for our customers throughout the network. You’ll be integral to our success.

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with the hourly rate ranging from $25 - $40 per hour plus overtime and allowances - subject to skills and experience.

What do you need to bring to the role?

  • Qualified Line Mechanic with current EWRB registration or be willing to enter into a 2-year apprenticeship to gain your NZ Electricity Supply (Distribution Line Mechanic) qualification.
  • Experience in line maintenance, construction, and fault repair services.
  • Skills in installation, replacement, and maintenance of underground and overhead line equipment
  • Demonstrate good working relationships with other team members, customers, and contractors.
  • Current working knowledge of the industry’s safety regulations
