The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Senior Mining Engineer/Consultant to join our growing Mining capability team, based in Sydney or Brisbane. This role is a key driver of technical excellence and commercial success, offering the opportunity to leverage deep operational experience and strong commercial acumen to deliver projects that meet client objectives while supporting our strategic ambitions for growth. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mining professional to strengthen client relationships, expand market opportunities, and contribute to initiatives that enhance our organisational capability and competitive advantage.
You will play a pivotal role in:
- Leading and managing mining projects from concept through pursuit, bidding, and execution, ensuring technical excellence and commercial viability
- Acting as a trusted advisor to clients, identifying challenges and translating them into actionable solutions
- Driving business development through tailored proposals and clear articulation of value propositions
- Mentoring junior team members and promoting knowledge sharing across disciplines
- Championing collaboration by connecting the right people to the right problems for optimal outcomes
- Delivering projects on time, within budget, and meeting client expectations
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships that lead to repeat engagements and new opportunities
- Contributing to strategic initiatives aligned with pitt&sherry’s 2030 strategy
What You Bring:
- You’ll be an experienced Mining Engineer or Geologist with a strong understanding of Mining and demonstrated experience and credibility in the industry.
- Broad operational knowledge of how mining sites operate
- Experience leading functional teams or projects with moderate complexity, risk, and resource requirements
- Strong grasp of client needs and how to tailor services to meet them, with knowledge of risk identification and mitigation strategies
- Proven ability to plan, assign, supervise, and review work for technical accuracy and adequacy
- Experience coordinating strategic business development efforts and mentoring others
- Track record of implementing tailored client strategies and facilitating bid preparation and strategic planning discussions
- Ability to solve complex problems using sophisticated analytical thought and judgment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence perspectives
