About the role:

We have two ECE Lecturer positions available based in Auckland or Christchurch.

Reporting to the Programme Leader, this pivotal role will facilitate teaching and learning to ākonga undertaking their undergraduate and postgraduate studies in ECE. Our programmes are delivered through a unique blended learning model with rolling in-take, meaning placements, marking, student support occurs weekly.

This will be a teaching role within our nationwide ECE team, supporting ākonga, associate teachers, and centres across Aotearoa New Zealand. Whilst the role will be primarily WFH, local and regional travel will be required for weekly placement visits, and campus-based teaching may be required from time to time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and supporting ākonga level 5-9 through marking and tutorials
  • Placement visits at ECE services to conduct observation and assessment of ākonga 
  • Supporting ākonga via online discussion forms
  • Research duty (NZTC is PBRF-approved)

About You:

You will be a passionate ECE professional with a strong foundation of both theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the ECE sector. We are seeking an individual who is looking to make meaningful impact in shaping the next generation of early childhood educators. 

Key Requirements:

  • Proven professional background in ECE
  • Current Full NZ Teacher Certification - essential
  • Must hold a Master level qualification or higher
  • Full New Zealand driver licence
  • Knowledge of and a passion for increasing quality care and education in the early childhood sector in Aotearoa New Zealand
  • Expertise in an early childhood curriculum area
  • Experience in teaching and/or mentoring adults is advantageous
