Location: Beaverton, OR

Duration: 9-month contract

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The nature of the work is focused on the internal or external production of products. This role manages the materials creation process from initial concept through to commercialization and production for assigned materials. The goal is to ensure on-time delivery and development according to critical dates, product specifications, sustainability, performance, and profitability goals.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Manage the materials creation process from concept to production.
  • Create and revise documentation for assigned materials, including product specs and prototypes.
  • Track and facilitate sampling and prototyping for materials.
  • Identify and address key issues in manufacturing to deliver proven and tested materials.
  • Monitor and communicate challenges during testing to meet materials integrity requirements.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing to support the pricing process.
  • Serve as a technical advisor on materials to Product Developers.
  • Stay up to date on market trends, new technologies, and consumer preferences.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

  • Researching and identifying new materials, technologies, and trends in textiles and apparel.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams (Design, Product Development, Sourcing, Innovation) to align on material choices.
  • Sourcing and selecting materials, trims, and findings based on performance, aesthetics, cost, and lead times.
  • Overseeing sample development, testing materials, and analyzing performance data.
  • Creating and maintaining accurate documentation, including technical specs, testing results, and production guidelines.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 0–1 years of directly relevant work experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of textiles, materials science, apparel construction, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to identify and resolve material-related issues throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organization and time management skills to handle multiple projects and maintain accurate documentation.
