The Director of Business Development is responsible for managing the growth and development of new company revenue through direct selling, team-based selling, and active participation in a matrixed sales strategy with nextSource partners. Working in partnership with the Workforce Solutions team, and in a cross-functional team environment, to cultivate new incremental revenue opportunities consistently and successfully across all channels, sectors, and nextSource solution sets.

How You Will Impact Company Success 

  • Manage full lifecycle of new direct sales opportunities: from lead generation/cultivation, to deal closing and new client contract execution, to effective handoff to the nextSource implementation team.
  • Establish and maintain trusted relationships with the client stakeholders through the delivery of exceptional workforce solution design, customer support, and value-added contributions.
  • Follow and secure leads generated from company marketing campaigns and other lead-generating activities.
  • Qualify leads relative to nextSource target audience, solution set offerings, new sales opportunities through systematic investigation of client’s situation and objectives, evaluation of revenue potential, and alignment with nextSource service offerings in order to prioritize sales activities.
  • Develop and present customized solutions which solve prospects’ current financial, operational and workforce planning pain points, as well as align with prospect’s desired future state.
  • Leverage CRM software to maintain accurate records and tracking of sales activities, prospects, deals, and other pipeline activities through contract close.
  • Continually expand individual knowledge of talent management, direct sourcing, SOW services procurement, staffing and workforce optimization market trends, industry analyst updates, and competitive data by reviewing internal and provide first level of service to clients, suppliers, and workers.
  • Set Revenue-based sales targets with leadership and develop Annual Sales Plan for obtaining those goals (i.e. sales activity, prospective meeting goals, campaign management objectives, etc.)
  • Represent nextSource at industry events, conferences to establish relationships with prospective clients, and maintain partnerships with our current client base.
  • Provide industry insight for our current clients via business reviews, strategic working sessions to identify pain points and offer additional solutions nextSource can provide.
  • Support industry analyst research as requested (Everest, Gartner, SIA, etc.) to help position nextSource as a leading provider of services. 
  • Continually expanding your individual knowledge and subject matter expertise of talent management, direct sourcing, SOW services, staffing and workforce optimization market trends, and competitive data to be a trusted partner for our clients.  


What You Will Bring Here 

  • Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in business, human resources, supply chain management or 5+ equivalent years of experience.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of actual sales experience, specific to Managed Service Provider Programs related to Contingent Workforce Solutions
  • Have broad market experience across multiple sectors.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) required.
  • Must be comfortable and proficient at developing leads, cold calling, campaigning and closing, knowing when to ask for the sale, even if it is multiples times.
  • Collaborative team player and consultative in approach and solutions oriented.
  • Solutions oriented, able to analyze customer needs and design / propose complex, integrated solutions supported by our services (MSP, SOW, EOR, AOR) and technology (VMS, FMS, Talent Pools).

Desired Technical Skills and Knowledge 

  • MSP, Staffing and or VMS Solutions selling experience required.
  • A strong network and networking capability within the contingent labor industry.
  • CCWP certification a plus.
  • Previous experience working, selling, and or interacting with channel partners (MSP, VMS, FMS, Direct Sourcing providers)

For employees based in Colorado, the salary at hire is expected to be between $125 and $150 per year. Performance based variable compensation may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the benefits listed above in this posting.
