About the role:

The position is situated within Family Services, which forms apart of the Family & Community Programs at Mackillop. The position is based at the Bendigo office and will form a part of the wider Family Services Team in Loddon Region incorporating Family Preservation & Reunification. The role will work as a part of the North Central Victoria Family Services Alliance, and reports to the IFS Coordinator.

The Integrated Family Services Practitioner will be responsible for providing casework within the North Central Victoria Family Services Alliance. The Integrated Family Services Practitioner will provide direct case management to families.

As an Integrated Family Services Practitioner, you will:

  • Deliver child-centered, family-focused case management that empowers families and strengthens communities.
  • Collaborate closely with North Central Victoria Family Services Alliance to drive meaningful improvements in systems and practice.
  • Build and nurture strong partnerships with The Orange Door, North Central Victoria Family Services Alliance, Child Protection, government agencies, and community organizations to create lasting impact.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and MacKillop Family Services and DFFH policies and procedures.
  • Play an active role in program innovation and development, helping us grow and adapt to meet evolving community needs.
  • Be a key contributor to our supportive and inclusive team culture—your voice and ideas will be heard and valued.
  • Uphold our unwavering commitment to child safety and well-being, ensuring every child is protected and respected.
  • Advocate for and respond to the unique needs of vulnerable groups, including people with disabilities, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Champion the Sanctuary Framework, embedding it into daily practice and supporting the well-being of both families and fellow staff.


This is a Full-Time Fixed Term (38 hours per week until 30/06/2026) opportunity based in Bendigo within our Family and Community Services program. The position reports to the Integrated Family Services Coordinator.

 

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, child development, psychology or a related subject area. Tertiary qualifications with experience in family work will be considered. 
  • An understanding and experience in applying contemporary family violence theoretical frameworks in the intervention with vulnerable children, young people and parents with complex needs. 
  • Thorough understanding of child development and the issues that vulnerable children, young people and families face
  • Well-developed skills in assessing risks, needs and safety for children, young people and families

You must have a:

  • Valid and current Driver’s Licence;
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);
  • Valid Employee Working with Children Check;
