Lycopodium is currently recruiting for a highly experienced Project Services Manager to join our growing Project Services Group in Perth.
Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the Project Services Manager will provide leadership and coordinate all aspects of the Project Controls of your designated project, including; Project Accounting, Cost Estimating & Management, Procurement, Planning & Scheduling, Contract Administration and Materials Handling.
The tasks you'll perform
- Monitor project performance including costs, progress against schedule, safety, and internal reviews to provide a transparent assessment of critical performances across all business units.
- Assist with the creation, implementation and maintenance of Project Control Procedures and Processes, in particular cost control and scheduling.
- Manage and coordinate inputs from various team members including engineering, procurement, contracts, project and construction in order to establish detailed cost, man-hour controls and schedule.
- Oversee the development of control budgets, contracts with suppliers and contractors, baseline schedules and provide guidance and reporting against progress.
- Evaluate project progress to ensure that it is meeting budgetary and deadline objectives. Recognise progress concerns and report immediately to the Project Manager to ensure the project is completed within both budgetary and schedule constraints.
- Ensure timely month end reporting for both internal (Lycopodium) and external Client is maintained.
- Maximise the productivity and efficiency of the Project Services Team by planning, scheduling and the appropriate allocation of all resources to ensure deliverables are met.
- Develop and contribute to the delivery of improvement initiatives which support Project priorities for continuous improvement.
- Oversee and provide leadership to all project services personnel on the designated project.
- Travel on an ad-hoc basis site to suit the needs of the Project.
The expertise you'll bring
- Circa 15 years direct experience in the project controls, procurement, expediting, transport and logistics and project accounting disciplines in the engineering or construction industries.
- Undergraduate qualification in commerce, business or engineering.
- Thorough and extensive knowledge of Project control principles, theories, concepts, tools, progressing and reporting.
- Intuitive leader with the ability to initiate, lead and manage change in a complex environment, with a focus on creating, fostering and managing people relationships for diverse, high performing teams.
- Capacity to evaluate work practices, implement systems and suggest alternatives and refinements where necessary.
- Ability to build and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholders, and work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple locations.
- Exemplify and encourage the core values and ethos of the business.
