Lycopodium is currently recruiting for a Lead Process Engineer to join our growing process team in Perth, Western Australia.
Reporting to the Group Manager - Process, the Lead Process Engineer will lead process engineering activities across studies and detailed design projects, ensuring technical quality, schedule performance and strong client outcomes. You will guide process teams, coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces and serve as a key technical adviser throughout project execution.
The tasks you'll perform
- Lead process engineering scopes across scoping, prefeasibility, feasibility and detailed engineering.
- Manage and coordinate process engineering teams to deliver high-quality technical results.
- Develop and review design criteria, mass and water balances, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, equipment datasheets, and control philosophies.
- Oversee metallurgical testwork programmes and the interpretation of their results.
- Ensure process designs comply with Client, regulatory and company requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers, discipline leads, vendors and Clients.
- Lead the selection of process equipment, vendor evaluations and technical bid assessments.
- Identify project risks and implement practical engineering solutions.
- Provide technical guidance during construction and commissioning.
- Mentor and develop graduate, intermediate and senior process engineers.
- Support proposals, business development activities and Client presentations.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, innovation and continuous improvement.
The expertise you'll bring
- Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Min 12 years of experience in mineral processing, hydrometallurgy or mining project development.
- Proven experience in EPCM, engineering consultancy and mineral processing operations.
- Demonstrated leadership in engineering studies and project delivery within EPCM.
- Strong knowledge of process design, plant optimisation and commissioning in mineral processing (e.g. Gold, Base Metals, Lithium, Rare Earths, or Critical Minerals).
- Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Commercial awareness and a Client-focused approach.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
