Lycopodium is currently recruiting for a Mining Infrastructure Underground Supervisor on a 2:1 roster to join our new long-term gold project in Western Australia.

Reporting to the Underground Superintendent, this Mining Infrastructure Underground Supervisor role manages daily frontline operations, crew safety, and asset maintenance in underground mining environments.

The tasks you'll perform

  • Lead the day-to-day management and safety performance of underground mining crews and development contractors.
  • Supervise day-to-day mechanized mining activities, including jumbo development, long-hole stoping, charging, and bogging operations.
  • Conduct pre-start meetings, coordinate shift handovers, and allocate resources effectively to hit daily development and production targets.
  • Manage and optimize auxiliary ventilation systems, secondary ground support installation, pumping networks, and general underground service infrastructure across the shift.
  • Lead immediate emergency response protocols if required, ensuring refuge chambers are operational and shift crews are fully trained in evacuation procedures.
  • Champion a safety-first culture, enforcing the site Mine Safety Management System (MSMS) and ensuring absolute compliance with WA mining legislation.

The expertise you'll bring

  • Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering, or a relevant mining diploma, or a proven track record as an experienced underground hard-rock miner.
  • Valid WA Underground Supervisor’s Certificate / Statutory Section 26 (S26) Certificate (not mandatory)
  • Significant experience in underground mining operations, infrastructure or mine development.
  • Demonstrated experience managing underground contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven experience in mine planning, scheduling and operational readiness.
  • Experience working with commercial, technical and corporate stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of relevant mining legislation, safety standards and industry practices.
  • Current site-based mining experience with demonstrated leadership capability.
