Reporting to the Share Services Supervisor, the role is responsible for the timely and accurate end-to-end processing of supplier and subcontractor accounts payable activities and associated tasks for assigned projects and entities, ensuring compliance with company policy, contractual obligations and payment timeframes.

The tasks you'll perform

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts payable to suppliers and subcontractors within a high-volume, project-based environment.
  • Ensure all payments are processed in line with company policy, contractual commitments, delegated authority and regulatory requirements.
  • Support project delivery through proactive resolution of invoice, purchase order, goods receipt and vendor payment issues.
  • Provide operational support across the accounts payable function and work collaboratively with stakeholders across all business units.
  • Contribute to month-end close, reporting accuracy and continuous improvement within the accounts payable function.
  • Deliver accurate and timely corporate credit card reconciliations and supplier payments, with minimal outstanding items and exceptions

The expertise you'll bring

  • Recognised Tertiary Qualification in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 5+ years' proven in a similar role and/or in a project-based environment.
  • Construction, engineering, mining, resources or EPC industry experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in high-volume invoice processing, supplier reconciliations and resolving complex invoice exceptions.
  • Experience working with purchase orders, goods receipts, project-based coding and subcontractor or supplier payment processes.
  • SAP S4 Hana or similar ERP system experience preferred.
  • South African Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Cape Town based
  • Strong technical aptitude, analytical capability, and problem-solving skills
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with colleagues across all business units.
  • Ability to build and sustain positive relationships with stakeholders, including vendors, project teams and co-workers.
  • Ability to work with people at all levels within an organisation, and external providers.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise to a high standard of accuracy and professionalism.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, internal controls and compliance requirements in a project-based environment.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple entities and projects while consistently producing high-quality deliverables.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility and commitment.
  • Demonstrated practice of confidentiality, personal responsibility and discretion.
  • Ability to provide mentoring and identify avenues of professional development.
