Lycopodium is currently recruiting for a Senior Project Engineer - Civil to join our growing project team in Perth. 

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Senior Project Engineer - Civil will provide technical assistance with the planning, designing, evaluating, executing and handover of the assigned projects in accordance with company, client and project requirements. 

The tasks you'll perform

  • Work in conjunction with a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with the project specific requirements and current industry work codes and standards.
  • Support the Lead Project Engineer to ensure that input required for the compilation and submission of reports is accurate and available on time including technical, scheduling, forecasting, reporting and other deliverables.
  • Develop and manage tender and contract technical documentation using relevant Australian and industry standards and guidelines.
  • Perform technical evaluations of tenders during the pre-award phase in accordance with Australian and industry standards and quality assurance requirements.
  • Prepare and perform procurement, inspection and expediting activities.
  • Develop and contribute to the execution strategies and methodologies for discipline specific site construction contracts, including execution optimisation.
  • Proactively support the Project Manager and other team members as required to ensure project deliverables are met.
  • In conjunction with the site based construction management team, ensure site construction is carried out in accordance with the project standards, scope and specifications. 
  • Provide sound technical advice to the project in the resolution of technical queries, development of work scopes and work packs. 
  • Ensure that all current design / vendor documents are available on site for use by all relevant parties.
  • Attend and participate in project and field engineering staff meetings where issues are discussed and resolved. 

The expertise you'll bring

  • Bachelor of Engineering.
  • 7+ years postgraduate experience in a similar position, ideally within an EPCM environment.
  • Experience in site civil construction with key focus on mining infrastructure construction activities related to including tailings storage facilities, pre-strip mining, road construction, airstrip construction and bulk earthworks (highly desirable)
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including Clients, Vendors and Co-workers.
  • Proactively seek and accept guidance and feedback provided by subject matter experts.
  • Determination and drive to achieve objectives through continued professional development.
