Due to our growth ADP (a Lycopodium business) is searching for an Accounts Supervisor. In this role, the successful candidate will be crucial in leading and managing our Accounts Team in providing an efficient and effective service to the ADP Group in respect of accounts processing.

The tasks you'll perform (not limited to):

  • Provide Leadership & Guidance to and Management of the Accounts Processing Team in Finance to ensure the smooth running of the processing department to ensure the end product is accurate and complete.
  • Review of daily accounting processing of finance team, including reconciliations.
  • Ensure that the company's financial records are accurate and up-to-date and that all financial transactions are correctly recorded and documented
  • Assist with the completion and vetting of debtor and creditor applications
  • Allocate work amongst the team, ensuring appropriate mix of knowledge and skills required
  • Resolve financial queries by interacting and co-operating with all stakeholders within and outside of the organisation
  • Ensuring adherence to company policies
  • Facilitate the necessary training and supporting finance team members in the use of the relevant financial systems and procedures.
  • Assist in month-end procedures.
  • Assist with Interim and Annual audit preparation
  • Adhoc duties as and when assigned

 The expertise you'll bring

  • Matric (with Accounting and/or Mathematics)
  • Relevant qualification
  • 5+years’ proven experience in Finance
  • 2+ years' experience in a similar leadership and supervisor role advantageous
  • Cape Town based
  • South African Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Excel is essential
  • Working knowledge of the SAP system would be advantageous
  • Working knowledge of general accounting systems
  • Foreign Currency exposure advantageous.
  • Solid technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision whilst consistently producing a high quality of deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to Lead, guide and Support a diverse team
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, efficiently and collaboratively in a team and knowledge sharing environment, with colleagues across all business units. 
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including suppliers and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft suite of software packages, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to and/or proficiency in the use of ERP & Financial software packages.
  • Demonstrated adherence to statutory and company processes and procedures
  • Adaptability and Flexibility
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work efficiently in a team and knowledge sharing environment.
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal skills and a practical approach to problem solving.
