Lycopodium Philippines is currently recruiting for a Senior Contracts Engineer to join our growing Project Services Group in Manila. 

The tasks you'll perform

  • Undertake the pre-award (tender to contract award) contract management activities inclusive of:
  • Conduct pre-qualification process to identify and select suitable tenderers.
  • Develop, in conjunction with the project team, appropriate Request for Tender (RFT) documents suitable to the specific scope of work.
  • Manage the tender process inclusive of drafting and issuing addendums in response to tender queries.
  • Receive and evaluate tenders, negotiate commercial and technical deviations (in conjunction with the project team), chair and minute tender review meetings with shortlisted tenderers.
  • Prepare, in conjunction with the project team, and issue Recommendation for Award (RFA).
  • Prepare and issue conformed contract document for execution.
  • Undertake the post award (contract administration) contract management activities inclusive of:
  • Management and administration of contractual deliverables (insurances, bank guarantees, contractor reports, management plans), contractual correspondence, site instructions, contract variations, backcharges, subcontractors, monthly progress payment claims.
  • Management, administration, negotiation and resolution of claims, pending matters or disputes with contractors.
  • Management and administration of contract close out process and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain up to date all contract management activities registers.
  • Plan, coordinate, monitor and report progress of contract management activities.
  • Collate and compile project reporting requirements.
  • Ensure that contract management activities are performed to a consistently highest standard, quality, ethical and in line with Lycopodium. client and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate in the development of Project specific management plans, schedules and budgets.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet the required Project objectives.
  • Register and file all relevant contract management documentation in accordance with the Lycopodium approved procedures.
  • Comply with procedures, processes, project specific management plans, project schedules and budgets.
  • Suggest, develop and contribute to methods to improve operational efficiency within the contract team.
  • Suggest, develop and contribute to the delivery of improvement initiatives which support business priorities for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure a high level of communication (written and verbal) is attained.
  • Ensure that all dealings with clients, contractors and other external stakeholders are performed in a professional manner and in line with ethos of the business.
  • Follow instructions, guidance and mentoring to ensure project deliverables are met.

The expertise you'll bring

  • Bachelor of Engineering or qualification in in Quantity Surveying, construction management, related areas with knowledge and experience in contract law.
  • A minimum of 7 years in a similar role with relevant industry experience.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including clients, vendors and co-workers.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility and commitment.
  • Solid technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills.
