Reporting to the Principal Process Engineer the Graduate Process Engineer will receive:

  • Exposure to EPCM project delivery in the mining industry
  • Mentorship from experienced engineers and professionals
  • Development of technical, analytical, and professional skills
  • Practical workplace experience aligned with academic qualifications

The tasks you'll perform

  • Assist with process design including, development of mass and energy balances, flowsheets, process description.
  • P&IDs, design criteria, control philosophy and operating costs.
  • Assist with the development of metallurgical test-work programmes, with occasional test-work oversight required.
  • Assist with commissioning activities under guidance of others.
  • Interpret metallurgical test-work as a first pass for review by others.
  • Preparation of process components of study documents.
  • Assist with the generation and compilation of engineering and equipment specifications.
  • Perform administrative and operational support duties as required

Minimum Requirements:

  • Recognised Tertiary Qualification in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering
  • South African citizen
  • Cape Town based
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate an ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including clients, vendors and co-workers.
  • Proactively seek and accept guidance and feedback provided by subject matter experts.
  • Driven and determined to achieve objectives through continued professional development.
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility and commitment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability. 
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a professional environment
  • Computer literacy
