Lycopodium is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Senior Site Project Engineer to join our dynamic, growing team in Namibia. The successful candidate will have responsibilities in planning, execution and coordination of all engineering related activities on site, as well as support to Project Control functions. The Senior Site Project Engineer will ensure that the project progresses according to design, specifications, budget and timeline, while assisting with resolving of technical issues and managing of field teams.

The tasks you'll perform

  • Support the Lead Site Project Engineer to ensure the quality of output of the allocated project team, and that it is aligned with the needs of project / study, the company objectives, the requirements of the client and meets regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver support and technical competence, as part of the project team, in the delivery of the projects and studies to meet the requirements of the Clients and their projects in accordance with the contract.
  • Follow the various (project specific and company) procedures, work practices, plans and protocols required to work efficiently and maintain a consistent approach and high standard of work.
  • Maintain up-to-date project records and reports.
  • Solve technical problems related to structural, civil, mechanical or electrical systems.
  • Travel on an ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and its operations. 

The expertise you'll bring

  • A degree and/or post-graduate qualification in Engineering, preference for Mechanical will be given.
  • 8+ years post graduate experience in the minerals processing sector with experience operating in remote sites.
  • Proven experience in EPC and EPCM environments.
  • Highly developed people and relationship skills with demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplined professional team environment communicating and motivating effectively at all levels of the organisation.
  • Demonstrate understanding and awareness of project implementation, constructability, OH&S, environmental, community and industrial relations issues.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both written and orally.
  • Demonstrate a strict practice of confidentiality, personal responsibility and discretion.
  • Provide mentoring and identify avenues of professional development.
