Lycopodium is currently recruiting for experienced Rigging Supervisors to join our new gold project team in Tanzania. The site roster will vary depending on the point of hire in the country.
Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Rigging Supervisor is responsible for the accurate, timely and professional delivery of project deliverables in accordance with the company, client and projects requirements.
The tasks you'll perform
- Oversee the rigging and scaffolding activities and output are aligned with the Company, Client, regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Manage the preplanning of scaffold construction and identify major functional requirements including weight limitations, maximum live and dead loads, access requirements, fall protection, and tie-offs.
- Oversee the scaffolding work which includes erecting, altering and dismantling to ensure the safety of the construction site.
- Conduct regular inspection and documentation of the condition of the scaffold and its ability to be occupied safely and recommend any changes and alterations needed. Inspect scaffolds after changes have been made.
- Develop and deliver relevant training and awareness programs to the rigging and scaffolding team.
- Conduct regular inspections, identify and mitigate any potential scaffolding and rigging risks.
- Identify hazards, defects and need for adjustments or repair to ensure compliance with agreed codes, law, working practices and health and safety.
- Adhere to Company’s Policy’s and obtain the appropriate internal approvals prior to making any contractual commitments.
The expertise you'll bring
- Certificate in Rigging and Scaffolding or the equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum of 8+ years’ experience in a supervisory role within a minerals processing and or related industries.
- Demonstrable experience with safe use of hand tools and equipment required to performed required tasks.
- Strong experience with complex crane lifts and execute lift plans.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise to a high standard of accuracy and professionalism.
