Lycopodium is currently recruiting for a Global Workforce Planning Lead to join our growing Projects team in Perth. 

Reporting to the Director Global Projects the Workforce Planning Lead will oversee the availability, capability, and deployment of site-based project talent across the organisation. They will maintain a clear view of current skills, future needs, and resource demand, ensuring people are assigned to projects in a way that maximises utilisation while protecting wellbeing and avoiding resourcing conflicts. The role blends workforce planning, capability management, and project resourcing into one strategic function that keeps delivery moving and prevents bottlenecks.

The tasks you'll perform

  • Allocate the right people to the right projects based on skills, availability, and development goals.
  • Maintain visibility of upcoming project demand and proactively plan for resourcing needs.
  • Maintain an accurate, up‑to‑date skills inventory across the site-based workforce.
  • Assess current competencies and identify capability gaps at individual, team, and project site levels.
  • Coordinate training, upskilling, and development pathways aligned to future project needs.
  • Manage and continuously improve skill databases, resource planning tools, and workforce dashboards.
  • Use data to forecast future skill requirements and inform long‑term workforce planning.
  • Partner with project managers to understand scope, timelines, and required competencies.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on workforce readiness and capability strategy.

The expertise you'll bring

  • Strong understanding of resource management, workforce planning, or project delivery environments.
  • Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable plans.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to balance competing priorities.
  • Experience with resource planning tools, skills databases, or workforce management systems.
  • Proven ability to work across multiple teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Background in project management, PMO, HR, or organisational development.
  • Experience in capability frameworks, competency modelling, or learning and development.
