Lycopodium is currently recruiting for an Estimator to join our growing Process Industries team in Melbourne. 

Reporting to the Manager of Projects the Estimator will be responsible for the delivery of capital cost estimates in alignment with the Company's, Client’s and project requirements in terms of accuracy, quality, and schedule.

The tasks you'll perform

  • Support the Process Industries team to consistently achieve high quality and accurate estimates, which are developed on time and in accordance with project and/or study requirements.
  • Adopt and follow the various (project specific and company) procedures, systems work practices, plans and protocols required to work efficiently and maintaining a consistent approach and high standard of work.
  • Using the applicable procedures, systems and protocols, develop detailed capital cost estimates to a standard that can be adopted as a capital budget, should a project be developed.
  • Ensure a high level of communication is attained with internal and external stakeholders when presenting estimating details.
  • The ability to pull together Master Schedules covering the Project Timeline.
  • Attend and participate in applicable project meetings.

The expertise you'll bring

  • University degree in Engineering or equivalent industry training.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in various aspects of Estimating and Project Management in the industrial processes sector.
  • Ability to interpret study level drawings, equipment lists and other data in order to prepare cost estimates, both preliminary and comprehensive
  • Capability to establish capital cost estimates from first principles based upon previous experience and personal knowledge in the industrial processes sector with minimal assistance from other senior staff.
  • Demonstrate understanding and awareness of project implementation, constructability, OH&S, environmental, community and industrial relations issues.
  • Demonstrate an ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with colleagues across all business units. 
  • MS Project and/or Primavera skills are a mandatory requirement.
